Whose with me?

Hello there lovelies,

I know long time no see, I have missed you all on this blog but with work,Christmas and the new lipstick blog's daily challenge I just have found it difficult to finish a post on this blog, I have got a couple nearly ready so you can look forward to those.

Anyway this post is not about my time away from this blog but instead it's about something completely different. Every year, I write out or think of New Years Resolutions, things that I am going to try and do in the year ahead and at the top of each years list is always the same resolution and that is to lose weight.

For those of you who don't know, I'm not the skinniest of girls. I never really have been and it was something that really got me down during my teenage years but as I have grown up I have just become more accepting of the fact I'm the size that I am. I am a UK size 16/18/20 depending on fit and shop and I have got used to that.

Although I have become accepting of my size, I still would really like to change it and this is where all the rambling in this post stops and I explain my plans and ask for your help and assistance.

This year I am going to do it... I'm going to attempt to lose weight and this is where you all come in. I am writing this post to ask who wants to join me in the battle to fight the fat and lose a little weight. There is a part of me who thinks that it will be easier to do if we all have a support system around us, a bit like a free WW meeting.

I also wondering whether you would like to be kept up to date with my battle against the bulge? Maybe share recipes? I don't know whether it is something people would be interested in?

Please let me know in the comments below.

Do you like Gilmore Girls?

Hello lovelies,

Recently I have got a little bit addicted to a TV programme. It is one that I haven't discovered on the telly, I've invested my money on iTunes and am enjoying the series so far. The programme is called Bunheads and its starts with the lead character, Michelle (played by Sutton Foster, one of my favourite american Broadway performers), a Las Vegas dancer marrying a fan and moving to his small town and her living with her mother in law after a tragic accident happens.

I bet you are wondering why the title of this is "do you like Gilmore Girls?
Well that is because the executive producer is the same lady who brought us Gilmore Girls. I have watched 3 episodes so far and have found there to be many similarities between the two shows and some of the actors from Gilmore Girls pop out through out, for example the mother in law I talked about above is played by Kelly Bishop, who played Emily Gilmore in the Gilmore Girls.

I have become rather addicted to watching this series on my iPad recently and just thought I would share a good television programme, which I thought you all might enjoy. Let me know if you check it out.

I've never agreed more with a song...

Hello Lovelies,

Today I bring you a song that I really enjoyed. It is by Carrie Hope Fletcher and it's called Boys in Books are Better.

I am quite a book nerd, especially romantic books/chick lit. I think I have discussed this fact on the blog before. I can quite easily lose myself in a book and of course I will fall in love with the main male (I'm such a book whore).

I have fallen in love with Jacob and Edward, Peeta, I'm currently even loving a bit of Christian Grey (the nice version, not the loopy, sex mad one).

What do you think of the song? Who are you book crushes? Let me know in the comments.

Lots of Love,

The Lost and Found, Birmingham

Hello Lovelies,

Recently I made the trip into Birmingham to meet up with a fellow blogger, Helen from Beautifully Superfluous. We had decided to go on a little blogger date and go for a wander around the shops and then for a meal.

When it came down to where we ate, I decided to take charge and book a table at a place that I had only visited once before, which was for their opening, and it was somewhere I have always wanted to return to. That place was The Lost and Found.

The Lost and Found can be found on Bennetts Hill and is the best little hidden away place that I have found in Birmingham. The interior of the building is pretty much ideal for me as it is a little quirky, a little vintage inspired and just really impressive. If you want to look at elements of the interior, I did take pictures when I went to the opening (LINK)

As I said before I hadn't been back since the opening, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the full dining experience. I have to say that I really enjoyed the experience. We were put at a table which had the most comfortable chairs and there was a little candle burning on our table. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food and drink were great.

To start off with me and Helen had a cocktail each, we both picked the same one and I can't for the life of me remember what it was called but it was very nice.

After much deliberation, we also decided to have the same main course too, which was the Burger and Chips. I tend to not eat a beef burger when I'm eating out as I can be a little fussy about what is in them, however there was something about this burger that meant that I had to try it and I'm so happy that I did. The Burger was so tasty and the chips were some of the best I have tried. I didn't need any seasoning or sauces because the chips were already seasoned and the burger had a tomato relish on it which meant there was no need for ketchup.

The thing that I really enjoyed about the eating experience was the way that everything was displayed, our burgers came out on big trays as you can see above in the picture and it was just something different to going to a chain restaurant.

Overall, I really enjoyed my dining experience at The Lost and Found and would definitely suggest you pop in there if you are in Birmingham.
Lots of Love,
